Chris' Mani

Yeah, yeah.....I know I was already here posting today. Since it is actually a nail blog, thought I'd throw up a pic of my nails!! WooHoo!

Tonight's mani actually has a reason behind it. There is a group of people that I've "known" for almost three years.  I count them among my real friends even though I've only actually met a couple of them in person.  We met by watching puppy cams, by sheer luck, good luck or destiny. Call it what you want, I suppose. I know that I felt it was definitely in the stars for me to wander into a chat room of a puppy cam that I randomly found. It was a Golden Retriever cam, and the puppies were 6 weeks old at the time. I stayed and watched the puppy shenanigans and chatted with a lovely, silly bunch that immediately got my sense of humor and I theirs.

I wasn't in the market for a puppy. At least I didn't think I was. There were 2 females still available.  And inside my head, I thought "oh, they must be really expensive and far away".  Puppies are so tempting, though! So I had to ask, even before I ran the idea past my hubster. Poor guy didn't have a chance. Low and behold, those pups were in my price range, and even better? The woman that had the puppies lived only 2 1/2 hours from me. She was chatting and before the night was over, my plans were made to go see those puppies the very next day. After 3 hours in puppy heaven, the choice was made, and I looked forward to our new addition to come home.

In the meantime, SO many hours were spent in the chat room of that puppy cam. We laughed, we shared life stories and friendships were formed that lasted when that puppy cam was done. It carried on to the next Golden puppy cam from another breeder, and those friendships renewed and even more were made. I adore these women. They are strong, kind, hilariously funny and I hope I'm lucky enough to have them in my life for many, many years.

One of those lovely women has fallen ill, and it is serious. She's in a hospital in Texas fighting for her life right now, and she has been on my mind every second since I found out last night. She went from "the flu" to medically induced coma within a day. It's terrifying, and there are a ton of people praying for her and her family right now.

This woman loves red nails the best, so someone in our nail group suggested red mani's as a show of support. It's a small thing, but when she's home, I'm sure she'll get a kick out of it. So here's what I did, with love and prayers for Chris....get well, please.
Zoya Blaze Essie Mirror Effects Good as Gold stamp
Very simply, it's Zoya Blaze stamped with Essie Good as Gold. The meaning is obvious, and I don't really need to say anything else about it.

If you're the praying kind, I'd appreciate if you'd throw out an extra one tonight.  I'm all teary-eyed now, so I'll leave it at that.
