GARDENER? NOT SO MUCH.

Minor bitch today. Just a minor one. Why does it take forever to get anything done? Just trying to get workers scheduled to start things at the house is like a second job for Kevin. I feel like I'm constantly asking him to call so-and-so to find out if they ever plan on doing the work we contracted them to do.  As a matter of fact, even though the ship has long since sailed, we're still awaiting an estimate from one of the local companies that came out to check out the a/c and furnace replacement. Seriously? It's been over a month since they were there. It must be nice to be just so damn rich you can just not even bother.

Second minor bitch. Not really minor in my opinion, I guess. We're still waiting for the solution on the water issue. Over the weekend I found the very beginnings of a stain in my brand new toilet. I managed to get rid of it, but I was on the verge of either full-blown panic or a complete throw myself on the floor tantrum. And still, we wait. I'm so effing over it. You had no problem taking our damn money; just do your mother-effing job that you guaranteed you'd do.

Next up, gardening. Just kill me.  Or should I say, just watch me kill the plants. I'll finally be getting them planted, but it appears as though some of them are already failing. I swear I didn't do anything bad to them! My $40 Supertunia is fading fast. I spent some time this morning googling that shit to see what to do. I'm not sure if I learned anything or not. For regular Petunias I learned a lot about deadheading them. One would think the same method would apply to Supertunias, but everywhere I look it says they don't need it. Methinks I'm a-stopping at Shopko on my way home to buy gardening scissors. I'm gonna' deadhead that bitch; can't hurt it more than it already is, I guess.

On a brighter note, the deck has stairs, and it's awesome! Sometimes I forget and still jump off the side. There's no railings yet, but that will probs happen next week, although in my opinion, my pool needs to up first. For some reason Tinlee won't go down the one set of stairs. She's so comical. I did get her to come up that set of stairs before bed last night. I'll call that a win.

Also, my new bird bath came yesterday, and it is adorbs. It's got a solar powered fountain, so I'm excited to go home and see if it works properly. I have visions in my head of my little hummingbird friends frolicking in the fountain. Crossing my fingers on that one, although if it happens, I'm just going to have to put some kind of built in seat at the window by the kitchen sink because I'll never want to stop watching.

For today I figured I would show a mani that shows my green thumb. Apparently this is the only kind of green thumb I will ever be allowed to have.
Color Club Halo Hues Angel Kiss, Barielle Date Night, Llarowe LLC-B stamp
I hadn't used any of the Color Club Halo Hues in quite awhile, and I do love this one, Angel Kiss. For the green stamping I used Barielle Date Night and the Llarowe LLC-B stamp.  I really like those Barielle polishes. They have a nice formula and stamp and water marble well.

Now it's about time to head on out of here. Off to buy the gardening shears and get to cutting.

Wish me luck.

OH, DIS IS MORE PURDY THAN YESTERDAY!

It's summer!! WooHoo!! I'm obsessed with Weatherbug and the Weather Channel on my phone; I check them  at least once a day, and right now it looks like it's going to be summer for at least the next ten days.  It's 85 on my deck right now, and it's supposed to be even hotter tomorrow and Sunday. Who knows; maybe the pool water will get above 74 degrees.  I went right in today....it's not like I actually need to be able to feel my lower extremities, right?

I'm actually kind of concerned....I think my fave raft might have a leak which will not please me. At all. It's such a nice one because it's adjustable so I can raise and lower the back to right where I like it. My last one lasted a couple of  years. That one is actually still useable but the ropes to adjust it broke and there's a slow leak. In other words, that's Kevin's raft. Or Tyler's if she's home. Not mine.

Mine is the nice new one, so I'm really hoping maybe I just didn't push the plug all the way in.  I'm certainly not going to buy another one this late in the year.

So I did do my nails last night. At some point over the next few days I need to re-do that orange/white/taped gradient because Nail It Magazine wants me to do a tutorial on it. I really hate when I have to do the same thing so close to the last time, but I guess I'll just do one hand and not leave it on.

Here's what I did last night.....gotta' love a holo!
Square Hue Patty's Pint, Color Club Halo Hues Angel Kiss, Ninja Polish DRK-C stamp
Don't worry....I made it home safely, all the while staring at my nails.  I only took pics while at the stoplight. Kinda' sad that I was actually hoping to get stopped at a stoplight. Why do they have to look so damn good in a car?

I didn't have a friggin' clue what I wanted to do last night, but as I wandered Pinterest I saw somebody's navy blue with some holo dots over it.  I didn't want navy, and I didn't want dots.  So I went for the dark green of Square Hue Patty's Pint and used my Color Club Halo Hue Angel Kiss with my DRK-C stamping plate.

So there's my photos for the day. Now I'm thinking about going to stalk the hummingbirds.  Unless the wasp nest under the front deck is being too feisty at this time of day. I'm askeered of wasps. They hurt like a bitch if they getcha!

I guess the question is; do I love the hummers more or hate the wasps more....

LEMONADE - BETTER WITH A TAN

When I went home for lunch yesterday, I didn't need a coat! And it was sunny!! Be still my heart! A sweltering 60 degrees!!

Yeah. And then I made the mistake of getting out of bed this morning. 38 degrees and heard the weather forecast. Possible snow coming. Are you kidding me? Isn't it May?? Even up here I only actually remember snow in May one time, and that was May 7, 1979. I only remember because I was moving to a town about an hour from me where we lived for six months, and it was an actual blizzard on the day we moved. At this rate I don't think I'd be shocked if it happened again. My yard is starting to green up a tad, and then I look at the other side of the driveway, and there's still a snow pile. Puhleeze. I'm so over it.

And where are my damn hummingbirds?? I hung the feeders up on Saturday and was so hoping they'd be back by now. I became obsessed with them last summer because Tyler's father-in-law gave me an old feeder he had in the garage. We had gone out there for dinner and as we sat out on the deck, the hummers were flying within inches of me. I've always thought they were special, but that did me in. So he gave me that feeder, I hung it, and the whole rest of the summer I was in heaven! I took so many pictures and videos. I would lay in the pool and just watch them and snap pictures. Luckily the camera did not end up in the pool. Like my phone did. lol

Near the end of summer I bought a front window feeder and 3 new ones for the back yard. I thought for sure they'd be back by now. Guess the cold weather really scared them off....I hope they didn't find a new place to go. Color me saddy-pants.

I'm really ready for summer. Can you tell? I'm so ready that I thought I'd do a summerish mani.  Dang...should have waited on this one.

I truly love yellow, but I just cannot pull it off without a tan. I keep trying it, though.  Lesson NOT learned.  It's time to get my tan on so I can wear things like this. My pale-ass skin just looks gross when I wear yellow. Boo-hiss.
And it's such a purdy yellow, too! More boo-hiss! This is a new one I recently got from the Orly Sweet Collection, Lemonade. I wanted to  put something light on top and thought a holo would look nice and decided to use Color Club Halo Hues Angel Kiss.  I thought it would show up a little better and the holo doesn't pop, but I like the subtlety of it. My tried and true DRK-A stamping plate popping up on this one, too.

If you just read this, are you a follower yet? Have you liked the Polish Sickness Facebook page? Are you following PolishSickness on Instagram?  Come on! I only need 2 more to hit 100, and today is my one month blogiversary!

If you're not, what the hell are you waiting for? I'd stand on my head and spit nickels to get you to do it, but you wouldn't be able to see me.  I can't afford to pay you. Hmmm....I'm out of options other than begging. So I'm begging. Well, not really, but kinda'. I really want to be a little good at this with lots of peeps following my every move, all jealous and shit that they aren't me. That would be a first, and I think I might enjoy that feeling very much! Geez, I wasn't even aware I'm such a shameless fame-seeker. Put me in one magazine and off the deep end I go. Yikers!

In all seriousness, what do you like to see on blogs that make you keep going to them? I know I go to many, some for the read and pics and some just to see their pictures. I like to look but don't necessarily always like what people write or how they write it. I'm sure that's true of most people. But I'm aiming to please, so help a girl out here. I honestly want to know what you think I'm doing right and what you think I'm doing wrong. I know "I'm" having fun, but I don't want to be the only one enjoying this journey.

Speak up! Queen Bitch (long story) commands it!

AN "IN THE MEANTIME" MANI

Humpa-hump day. I really need it to be Friday. Seriously. I mean it. This will be the first weekend free I've had in what seems like forever. In actuality, I've only had two busy ones in a row, but that's enough to really screw up my dvr catch-up time. I foresee 3:30-4:00 a.m. staying up even though I know I honestly do need to get some extra sleep to recharge.

So last night I received the list of manicures that are needed per yesterday's post. Luckily I had a few in my stash of pics that they might be able to use. I do have my work cut out for me over the next couple of nights. With a couple of the descriptions, I'm not even sure I know what they are. Luckily there are a bunch listed, but I don't have to do all of them. I usually just try to do as many as I can so hopefully I'll make them happy.

I waited as long as I could last night for directions, and when I hadn't gotten them due to some glitch with my Facebook messages, I went ahead and just did something simple to get me through the day today. It isn't exciting, and I am pretty annoyed with how it turned out. As usual, it look WAY better in my head. Hmmm...does that mean I'm delusional? It's possible that I am. But I digress; on to the mani.
As you can see, I did not put a whole lot of work into this. I bought some new polishes while I was in Illinois over the weekend and since they were sitting on the table next to me after being swatched, I just grabbed two and did what you see here.  The basecoat is a Color Club Halo Hue, Cloud Nine. Then I grabbed my trusty little fan brush and went over that with Color Club Port-Folio. One thing I do like is that some of the holo shows up even with the purple over it.

I had been thinking about doing a fan brush mani for awhile. Now I wish I had waited until I had more time to choose colors. This one does nothing for me. No great loss when I remove it after work.

I'm hoping these mani's I'm doing for Custom Nails are something cute. Of course, you'll be seeing them even if I don't like them.
