YAY FOR NAIL MAIL!!

Holy wah!! I got over 10,000 views in just under two months!! I don't know for sure, but that seems like a TON to me!! Unbelievable. Thank you all for sticking with me. :)

Okay. I lied. I am posting tonight because I got two new stamping plates in the mail today and couldn't wait to try them.

But first, lest you think I have nothing to bitch about, after my unsuccessful attempt at that EGD last Friday, I heard from the doctor's office today. As I expected, my gall bladder is fine. Duh. As for another attempt at the EGD, apparently my doctor is retiring, and I was his last procedure. Nice.

So the nurse had the doc call me, and he said to go to my regular doctor, and it's up to me whether I want to retry it or not. Or maybe I'd rather just have an upper GI. Huh?

I understand why you're retiring, you f**ktard.

But then I came home for lunch and found 6 new nail polishes, some sequins, a cute little purse from Custom Nail Solutions and my two new stamping plates from Llarowe. That's enough to put even me in a good mood.

I still wanted something light, so I grabbed Zoya Kendal and my Konad white. AND my brand spankin' new LeaLac LLC-A plate. I got that and LLC-B, and oh, they are so spectacularly fab. I've been holding off on getting these because two of the images on the B plate are wonky which pisses me off, but I couldn't wait any longer. It figures the wonky images are two I really love, but such is life.

I heart this very much. It's just such a pretty color, and I love the delicate design of this one.  Lawdy, I see some fun with these plates in my future.

FEELIN' GROOVY. IT IS GROOVY, RIGHT?

Get me the F outta' here!! Jeebus. Even though I know I just had an extra day off a few weeks ago, I am just dying for a break from here. Must be "spring - shit, it should be summer by now" fever. I don't normally take breaks when I'm at work, but I find myself wandering outside to sit in the sun on the "warm" days. I need sunshine on me!

Got the pool up finally. Of course, it has a tiny leak near the bottom, but it shouldn't be a big problem. Hopefully cleaning out the saltwater system will make it work again because it died at the end of last summer. The water is a toasty 52 degrees right now, and since I have well water, it's a lovely shade of baby-shit green. Sounds inviting, right? You're more than welcome to stop over and take a dip with the dogs. Even they know it's too cold to go in. lol

Still wearing the Agent Lavender from the other day. I know, I know...you're shocked. I was just too tired last night and got home later than planned from my mom's house. I'm trying to think of something to do tonight. I certainly can't leave this on another day.

In the meantime, another oldie but a goodie from October. This was the first time I had tried to do a swirlie marble. Methinks they are purdy damn coolsville.

I have no clue what I used for this. I'm guessing "black" and white".  More than likely they were just Sally Hansen something-or-others. I'm thinking it doesn't really matter. It doesn't to me, anyway. 

I like looking back at some of these older mani's and realizing I like them more now than I probs did back then. These are also my fashion length Custom Nail Solutions nails instead of the glamor length I wear now. I loved them at the time because they seemed long, but I much prefer my current length.

Hopefully you'll see something new from me tomorrow, assuming I think of something to do. I have a few ideas pinned on Pinterest, but some of them look really time-consuming; more of a weekend project. 

You'll just have to wait and see what I end up with, as will I.   

EMMY AWARDS MANI

I truly planned to go to bed at least an hour earlier than normal last night since I had to get up earlier to be at the hospital. Honest. I really, really did. Yet I still didn't manage to get my ass into that bed until 1:15. Seriously....what the hell is wrong with me??

So hospital at 7:30, and since the ultrasound didn't show anything, which I knew damn well it wouldn't, I had to go on to the next test where they inject some crap to make the gallbladder do its bidnezz. Lord almighty, what a dragged out process that is! Take some pics; wait 15 minutes; take some more pics; wait 45 minutes. The first break he sent me to the waiting room. After the second set of pics I told him I just wanted to stay in the room and lay on the table so at least I had a blanket. It was frickin freezing in there. And I am not afraid to nap wherever I happen to be. So that's what I did. Got out of there at 10:30 and then went to the office until noon.

Now I get to sit around and wait until the 20th to get results. Dullsville. There's nothing wrong with my damn gallbladder. I hate when doctors don't listen. Whatevs.

Left work, got my tan on and then came home and cleaned the entire house. Result? Ambition gone. My get up and go has got up and went.  So today you get an old mani. 

Right about the time of the Emmy awards on tv, CNS wanted some "celebrity" manicures. This one is my version of Zooey Deschanel's mani that she showed on the red carpet. I'm not big on freehand, but I think this really is cute. Not sure where I would wear it because I'd probs have to explain to people why on earth I have a tv on my fingernail. 

It's China Glaze Talahari Kiss....I love this color. A lot!! Then I did the freehand television set. For the screen I used my Fantasy Makers Confetti Confettis glitter and also sprinkled a little of that on the other nails, as well as slapping on a few rhinestones. 

I don't know....even as I look at this, I like it even more than before. 

Too bad nobody is giving me an Emmy....or anything else....

AN "IN THE MEANTIME" MANI

Humpa-hump day. I really need it to be Friday. Seriously. I mean it. This will be the first weekend free I've had in what seems like forever. In actuality, I've only had two busy ones in a row, but that's enough to really screw up my dvr catch-up time. I foresee 3:30-4:00 a.m. staying up even though I know I honestly do need to get some extra sleep to recharge.

So last night I received the list of manicures that are needed per yesterday's post. Luckily I had a few in my stash of pics that they might be able to use. I do have my work cut out for me over the next couple of nights. With a couple of the descriptions, I'm not even sure I know what they are. Luckily there are a bunch listed, but I don't have to do all of them. I usually just try to do as many as I can so hopefully I'll make them happy. 

I waited as long as I could last night for directions, and when I hadn't gotten them due to some glitch with my Facebook messages, I went ahead and just did something simple to get me through the day today. It isn't exciting, and I am pretty annoyed with how it turned out. As usual, it look WAY better in my head. Hmmm...does that mean I'm delusional? It's possible that I am. But I digress; on to the mani.

As you can see, I did not put a whole lot of work into this. I bought some new polishes while I was in Illinois over the weekend and since they were sitting on the table next to me after being swatched, I just grabbed two and did what you see here.  The basecoat is a Color Club Halo Hue, Cloud Nine. Then I grabbed my trusty little fan brush and went over that with Color Club Port-Folio. One thing I do like is that some of the holo shows up even with the purple over it.

I had been thinking about doing a fan brush mani for awhile. Now I wish I had waited until I had more time to choose colors. This one does nothing for me. No great loss when I remove it after work.

I'm hoping these mani's I'm doing for Custom Nails are something cute. Of course, you'll be seeing them even if I don't like them. 

  

Tonight's post won't have any fancy mani's...just some different views of my Custom Nail Solutions nails. 

So once I placed my order, I received an impression kit in the mail. My first job was to trim my nails and give myself a good manicure, pushing my cuticles back. I then took the putty that came with the kit and made an impression of each of my fingernails. Then I had to decide what style nails I wanted. I had such a hard time deciding on length! I finally decided on the active length which is 2mm past the tip of my finger. I also knew I wanted to go with a french tip. Closed the molds and popped them back in the box so UPS could deliver them back to their offices in Texas. Waiting for my nails was pure torture!! I was so excited to get them! I think it took under 2 weeks; it just felt like forever. When my nails arrived, I could hardly contain myself. I seriously just stared at them for probably an hour. I watched the instructional video for the umpteenth time and finally worked up the courage to glue those suckers on. And this is what I ended up with.

I was pretty thrilled with these and wore them happily every single day until the fall, when I decided I had to have a longer set, the fashion length. And here's what those look like.

 

I fell completely in love with these! One thing I did find with this set is the fact that there is SO much white tip, sometimes using sheer polishes can be problematic as far as covering that up. What's that you say?? There's a solution for this problem?  Oh, that's right;  CNS also makes these nails in a plain pink color. Problem solved. Of course, if I'm getting a 3rd set, I certainly have to get their longest length this time, glamor. I also once again opted for square shaped even though they do make the other popular nail shapes. I'm just a fan of square. 

And here are the nails you now see in all of my pictures. My pink, square, glamor length nails. Pardon the dry looking skin in the pictures; anytime I'm taking photos of my nekkid nails, I have just soaked them off and reapplied, and I haven't used any cuticle or hand stuff yet.

Just a bit more info, and then I'll shut ma' mouth about these wonders. I can easily get 3 weeks of wear out of mine, but everybody is different. It just depends on how fast your real nails grow. Once the growout starts to annoy me at the cuticle line, I remove them. I haven't been without them for even one day since last May 5th, and I certainly don't foresee going without them. Ever. In 11 months, I have had 3 nails pop off; 1 when I slammed it...hard...on my car window. The other 2 times I was wrasslin' with the furbabies, and they were due to be removed and reapplied so it's possible they weren't on quite as solid.

So those are the nails that have helped drag me happily into the nail world. Without having these, I couldn't do anything I've been doing. These are wonderful to work on because they are always perfect. You can learn more at www.customnailsolutions.com
